This is another fine example of why home performance contractors, as apposed to those who do stand alone energy audits, should be in control of producing a scope of work. I live in an area that has many homes built over crawlspaces that have standing water part of the year, usually with leaky return air ducts in the space. I'm most often there in response to their request to help them lower their energy bills. When I suggest the highest priority for their home is to address the crawlspace, to the tune of $15K-$20K, I have a tough time closing a sale.
We may be Home Energy Pros, but reducing energy consumption is rarely the first thing on the list.
