We Are About to Pass 400ppm CO2! The global warming tipping point was 385ppm, as set by James Hansen. The upshot of the CO2 escalation is that there is no longer any environmental point to pursuing energy efficiency. This fact has only been published in this blog, you will not see this noted anywhere else! We may continue to do our symbolic efforts, such as planting trees, but once the lemmings have passed over the cliff, there is no return. CO2 levels have not been this high on earth for 4 million years, when it was much warmer than today. Surveys say that your average U.S. citizen does not believe in the existence of CO2, due to the lack of science education.

The time has passed to tell your cousin the CPA with the Lincoln Navigator what he is doing to you, CO2 wise, of course!

Dear Sean,

We may have opposable thumbs, but do a re-read of '2001 Space Odyssey' to be informed of how we mis-use them. It's difficult to cross a mammal with a reptile. Who's pushing nesty2.0? Your cousin the navigator driver should be arrested by the green police!

Meanwhile, back to the facts. As William pointed out, there is ice core data which backs up the hawaii CO2 atmosphere data. Your local weather has probably shifted due to global warming. It's a shame that James Hansen has to demonstrate with Darryl Hannah in order to be heard.

Well thank goodness we have opposable thumbs & we don't have names that end in rex or raptor. In all seriousness I got to ask if you are so doom & gloom, why push the NEST 2.0 or take a dig at Navigator drivers?

As for Green Buttons, etc... I have to admit, I had to relook that one back up  - unfortunately you are right, it doesn't do any good, it is basically just another political feel good measure to make it look like they were doing something or care.

Sorry Tom, but I am not to sure you will find to many people who say CO2 doesn't exist, but some of the silly notions like it doesn't matter (as we passed X), or it's all mans fault are pretty ludicrous. Along those lines, being able to establish we haven't had X until Y years ago is amazing, especially as thermometers were not invented until the 1500's & legitimately being able to count carbon was 50 - 75 years ago. With that have fun debating someone else, as woo hoo we are going to pass 400 this year or at least by next May (per the article)...
