Save energy with motion detectors and dimmers

Dimming the lights and adding motion detection lighting is another way to control energy costs and put savings back in your wallet.

Installing dimmers to the light switches you use most, is the first place to start. Dimmers can enhance the decor and ambiance of any room by giving you complete control over the light levels. More importantly it will save you money in the process.

Imagine sitting in your living room, reading to a single candle or having a romantic dinner with every light in the dining room turned on. Because we need to use some rooms for multiple purposes, dimmers give us the ability to adjust the light levels from nearly dark to fully lit, simply by turning a knob or sliding a lever. Always remember to choose the best dimmer switch for your bulbs to avoid flickering and other problems.

Dimming the lights just 25 percent, saves you an average of twenty percent in energy costs, not to mention it extends lamp life.

Now let's talk about motion detection lighting.

Lighting plays an important role in security around your home.

A motion detector turns outdoor lights on and off when luminous detective. Making it ideal for security and energy management.

It's also convenience and safety for you because it can light the way to your house when you come home at night. This is especially helpful if your hands are full.

By replacing your home's five most frequently used light fixtures or the bulbs in them with Energy Star qualified models you can save seventy dollars each year and it's one of the easiest home improvement projects you can do yourself.

Dimmers and motion detectors are an easy and cost-effective way to give you control of your lighting in and outside of your house.
