Friends and Colleagues

I'm happy to announce the release of my new book, "The Homeowner's Energy Handbook".

The book is written for a varied audience and is split between energy efficiency and renewable energy topics. I hope it might be something that you or your customers might find useful. There are several hands-on projects to help the reader understand the concepts.

Efficiency chapters include:

Renewable Ready

Deep Energy Retrofit

Energy Monitoring

How to Insulate

DIY audit

Renewable energy topics covered:

Solar electric and thermal

Wind

Hydropower

Biodiesel

Woodgas

Biogas

Hope you enjoy it!

Yes, all this efficiency and renewables stuff is just too far out to be realistic. Duh! what was I thinking? I could've been an economist!

Gotta go shake the grate on the gasifier...

Hello Paul,

Is it free? If not, then please answer my questions: I guess 'renewable ready' is good, but everthing else on your list is Bad.

Deep energy retrofit- not recommended by the U.S. most famous economist, who predicted the real estate collapse. Are you trying to sell these?

Energy monitoring- just don't use the big wasters, the little wasters don't matter, nobody pays attention to a thousand dollar monitor system after the first month. Do you want people to insatll these?

How to insulate- people are only likely to do this when they purchase a home, new or used. Is your experience different?

DIY audit- maybe this will work, but most of these testers here will beg to differ.

Solar-creates more pollution than saves. your point?

Wind- ugly, and doesn't actually work after capital and maintenance costs- do you have real data?

Biodiesel- not enough around to matter.

Wood gas , bio gas, synthesis gas- don't work, don't matter. Why?

Hydropwer- it's great if you have niagara falls available, otherwise, it just kills the river? do you have a different opinion.

Great luck selling your book, and the strange concepts contained therein!
