I have a client who is has a lovely house built in 2010 that has oak hardwood floors throughout. There are apparently no other moisture issues besides the hardwood flooring. This problem is on the…Continue

T-stats without fan-only control

When the air handler is only used for heating, they often don't have a fan-only control.  That's a problem for setting up the house in worst case conditions for combustion safety because the leaks in…Continue

Rocket Science?

The old expression when something is supposed to be simple is to say that, “This is not rocket science!” as though rocket science was the most complicated thing we can think of.  I will admit that some of the things rocket scientists have done are pretty amazing.  I don’t have a clue how you land a probe on an asteroid moving at thousands of miles an hour somewhere out there in space.  Or manipulate a vehicle on the surface of a planet and send back, “Wish you were here!” snapshots - in color. …See More

BPI QCI HEP Certification

The Weatherization Assistance Program's (WAP) comprehensive Quality Work Plan requires that quality control assessments be signed off by a QCI professional as of January 1, 2015.  Looking through BPI's listings of HEP professionals indicates . . . well the list is out of date, but also that there aren't a lot of you out there.  Does that mean that there isn't a demand for that credential or does it mean something else? This is not a casual credential to achieve, and I have great respect for the…See More

Paul Raymer replied to Roman's discussion Range Hood Draft
