"It is also possible to use the screw-in CFL of your choice in some torchiere lamps designed for incandescent bulbs, at least when the switch is on/off only."

Does anybody know of an adjustable CFL torchiere lamp with a dimmer switch (a built-in rheostat)? From what I can find on the net, all the CFL torchiere lamps only have 3 light settings. The lowest setting I can find is equal to a 100 watt incandescent bulb. I would like a lower setting for watching TV.Any advice would be appreciated. Energy Tax Credits for 2011: What's Available

Thanks to the federal tax bill signed into law in December, there are still energy tax credits available for 2011. That's the good news. The not-so-good news is that the amounts available in 2011 have been reduced for certain improvements. From 2009 through 2010, homeowners were rewarded with a 30% tax credit for making their homes more energy efficient ($1500 maximum credit). For 2011, homeowners will receive only a 10% tax credit for home energy efficiency improvements ($500 maximum credit).…See More
