Strategies To Keep Millennials At Their Peak Performance In A Home Performance Company

Let me first start by confessing my guilt... Guilt for being bored easily, guilt for wanting praise, even if it is a pat on my own back for an achievement... Guilt for being a millennial... On the other hand I enjoy working in teams and I encourage frequent communication between all team members from admin staff to auditors, sales staff and crew members to improve our workflow. Yes, I am a millennial, but let me add that there is nothing that makes me cringe more than the excuses I get from…See More

What Is the X-Factor In Hiring In Home Performance

An article published in the NY Times, titled, "How To Get A Job At Google" got me thinking about one of the most innovative companies in the 21st century. Google, the people who want to "organize the world's information", was named one of the best places to work in 2012 and 2013 not only because of the free food 24-7, but also because of their culture and the Googlers who work there. It is a place that many in the tech world aspire to work at one time or another. In the article, Thomas Friedman…See More

How Not to Handle PR For Your Energy Audit Company

I recently published an article on Green ID's home energy blog and in the DOE's Home Energy Pros on an energy efficiency product, giving a review of its effectiveness and ideal situations. The review was not a negative one but I did point out some weak areas of the product. The review made it on Home Energy Pros featured blogs and caught the eyes of the CEO of the product. He was obviously concerned about any negative press because he contacted me through LinkedIn. He said some of my statements…See More

Does Aeroseal work? An auditors review

Aeroseal is a product that seals small leaks in the ductwork. No attic work is required by the crew to work the equipment. It is monitored by a computer program that tells when the pressure of the ductwork is low enough that most of the leakage has been sealed.

The plus side to Aeroseal is that:

1. It is able to reach inaccessible parts if the attic such as flat roofs.

2. No attic work has to be done.

3. Unlike radiant barrier, it reliably works… Continue
