Extreme Home Automation

Just when you thought you had finally found a form of cooking your partner could assist with, the BratWurst Bot sausage robot looks like making the man of the house redundant!

Now we all have increasingly busy lives with heavy workloads but do we really need a robot to turn our sizzlers?

Here at Controliss blinds we are all about automation and technology, but this is surely simply a bridge too far! (unless of  course it can hoover, iron and put the seat down, then I am in!)

Automated blinds, especially at this time of year, controlled at the touch of a remote control are definitely an essential part of modern living. Set them to raise and lower in your absence or close when the temperature rises, on days like today, is simplicity personified.

With the Telis 6 Chronis RTS electric blind handset for example, you can set your blinds to lower as dusk falls, ensuring greater security as well as much need energy savings.

Who needs to traipse from room to room, manually pulling cords, when a cold beer & bangers-in-buns beckon us to the outdoors.

The summer is finally upon us, lets get out in the sun, enrich our bodies in natural vitamin D and go barbecue bonkers!

Too Hot To Handle

Too Hot Too Handle

Temperatures have soared over the last few days, and although the UK has recorded its hottest day so far this year, the sunshine doesn’t always bring a smile to everyone face.

By day we can treat ourselves an ice cream to cool our souls, Jublee’s and funny feet were always my favourite as a child, although nowadays I am all about the magnum!

Cooling off by splashing cool water on the face and increasing our fluids are all well and good throughout the day, but the nights can be unbearable.

Top tips for keeping you cool during the night

Take a cool bath or shower prior to slumber
Cotton bedding is a must, nylon and polyester will only add to the heat ensuring a restless night
Ceiling or mounted fans can help circulate the air
A glass of water by the bed to replenish the fluids should you wake

Preventing solar heat gain through glazed areas is an absolute must so whilst out at work during the day try to keep window blinds lowered or curtains drawn in all the rooms that catch the sun. In the evenings, opening doors and windows to keep the house ventilated will always help keep the temperatures down.

Visio-Lux-Titanium Electric Roller Blind

Large glass expanses such as bi-fold, patio or sliding doors allow in the beautiful sunshine, but with that comes the heat. Dressing these larger glass areas with Controliss Visio-Lux diffusion screen electric roller blinds are a great way to compliment the decor, lowering the heat levels, preventing excessive glare and preventing the furniture from being damaged by the suns harmful UV rays whilst still allowing some light to gently filter through.

Controliss blinds are a great way of reducing solar heat gain by employing cost effective prevention measures for south facing windows and doors and not only will they look sleek, chic and the envy of your neighbours, but they will also be worth their weight in gold when it comes to protecting furnishings from being sun bleached.
