Dan Payne with Environmental Energy Consultants trains and certifies people who want to work in the "green" industry and educates homeowners about ways they can reduce their energy use and save money. Payne also serves as an adjunct instructor at East Central College where he teaches "fast track" courses in energy auditing and weatherization.
Recently he led a crew of ECC students as they used spray foam products to air-seal the attic, basement and crawlspace of a circa 1906 balloon-frame home in Missouri. Using blower door diagnostics pre and post sealing resulted in a 27 percent air leakage rate reduction of the home.
