The Pond Down Under

How many homeowners know what is going on in their crawspace?

I see a couple of problems with this one!

This is apparently spring fed water. Clear and clean looking. The sump pump is broken. I'm told that up until recently there was a family of skunks living in there. The fix would involve pumping the water out, jacking the beam back to level and shoring up those eroded columns after installing proper footers. Notice the waterlogged temporary 2x4. The sump discharge line goes to the front where the lot has plenty of negative grade. A proper drainage system could be installed that terminates downhill in the front yard. This means that the drain would have to pass under the foundation in the front. I'll have to check with an engineer to determine the correct way to address this breach below the foundation.

How are you gonna fix the pond?
