Sometimes the things we see are mind-blowing.

Jack, that is too funny!  I can only imagine how fast the blower door was turned off.  I had a similar situation where the owner had their dryer vent hooked up mutually with their bathroom fan (that the owner said did not work).  The only difference is that when the blower door turned on, lint was flying around that had been stuck in the bathroom vent!

It's in Long Island, New York state. The owner did this himself after the installation of a bathroom fan. I've heard of at least one other instance of a bathroom fan being vented into a soil stack since I've taken this picture. There, when an auditor started the blower-door test the house filled with the stench coming from the bathroom fan.

Where was this?  In Missouri the building inspection codes are sooooo tough.  They would never allow it.

What are they spending on air freshener?

Mark,

BPI  requires that bath fans be vented outside.

No mention of soil stack pipes!

Kinda defeats the purpose of a bath fan to remove odors!

LOL, Thats a good one. Hose straight, no bends or Kinks. Love the duct tape. Cant make this stuff up.  I wonder what the program people would say? After all it is vented to the outside!
