CSG has had success on Facebook by posting stories that are helpful to our audience (as opposed to just posting business updates).  Try asking people to comment or like your posts to increase interactions.

Timing is important too; you can use the clock icon  below your post to schedule it to go out at a time when you think people in your audience will be online, such as lunchtime.  Experiment with times to see what works best.

To generate ideas for content, follow other relevant companies and trade groups, and set up iGoogle to see news feeds related to our industry. Hope this helps!

Hi Jeremy, Why not start a discussion in the Social Media and Energy Efficiency group? I'd be happy to participate!

This is great!  I am enjoying looking at your FB pages.  I know this isn't a marketing website, but perhaps some future discussion on how to reach people and how to figure out what to post is in order?

Chelan County Public Utility District in Wenatchee, Wash., uses its Lightly Facebook page to provide energy news and tips to customers and the general public. Next month we plan to give away a Nest Learning Thermostat to draw customer interest. Then we'll track any energy savings.
