Implementation of the National Weatherization Evaluation
Bruce Tonn, a staff scientist at Oak Ridge National Lab, and Jackie Berger, director of program evaluation at APPRISE, recently authored an article in Home Energy on
"Evaluating DOE’s Weatherization Assistance Program".
In their article they let readers know that "if you are a weatherization crew chief, technician, or administrator, get ready for a visit. Evaluations of DOE’s Weatherization Assistance Program are moving ahead. There are actually two WAP evaluations coming up, a retrospective evaluation focused on 2007 and 2008, and a WAP American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) period evaluation that will study years 2009, 2010, and 2011. Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) has supervisory responsibilities for both evaluations."

This is really great news. We must be clear about the results that we are, or are not producing if we expect to continue funding at a level remotley close to where it has been.
The weatherization program has played a very important role in the growing our enterprise, as it is a fantastic training platform for our apprenticeship programs, and new graduates of building science training programs. -
