Tools of the Trade

A hammer and a saw used to be the key tools for home contractors. Today, the best-in-breed also use high-tech equipment while performing a professional energy audit or verifying that construction has been done correctly.

I'm not sure I'd want to depressurize the ducts. Wouldn't you be pulling contaminated air, through any leakage areas, from attics and crawlspaces into the conditioned space?

Duct testing
Do you find it better to do positive pressure duct testing (pressurizing the ducts) or negative pressure duct testing (depressurizing the ducts)? And if you use the Retrotec DU200 duct tester, how do you attach the configuration rings if you are doing depressurization testing?
