RaterFest! 2013

If you are a Home Energy Professional, and you like the outdoors, you should be at RaterFest! 2013.

We believe RaterFest is one of the best building performance conferences out there. Why? Well, we have an incredible speaker and presenter line up. We're set in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. We offer delicious local organic meals and home brew. And there's live music, great trail walks, and fishing to boot.

Mark LaLiberte:  Vision 2020 - Looking Forward to 2020 and Beyond
With a significant growth in high performance building reaching every sector of the industry, an increased need to understand the methods and types of advanced wall and building systems will require us to sharpen and focus our
efforts more than ever. The challenge with advanced buildings is in the details and the math. It has now become even more critical to plan and calculate building system performance. Our future looks very bright.
Areas of focus will be:
 Where are the new codes leading us?
 What are the challenges with new performance goals?
 What are the challenges with labor and the trades?
 What new wall systems will be next and what role do we play?
 Are we talking to the right customers and what are we saying to them?
 Are the new software programs solving our concerns and matching expectations?
 What obstacles could slow the progress for meeting the 2030 challenge for near zero homes?

Beautiful mountain venue aside, what really makes a conference is the people.  This year's lineup of speakers is as good as we've ever had.  But perhaps even more telling about the evolution of this smallish conference is the list of attendees who are NOT presenting.  I was just looking over the registrations and I can say with confidence that we could easily fill all of next year's speaker slots just from among this year's regular attendees.  What does that mean?  It means RaterFest! is a unique opportunity to meet and network with many of the industry's brightest and most influential personalities in a small, intimate, and low-key setting.

I can't tell  you how many times I've heard from people at the big national conferences that they get more value out of the networking opportunities outside of sessions than anything else.  This is one conference that truly recognizes that.  If you've never attended, it may sound like just a big party.  But in reality RaterFest! is a real, professional level conference.  It just happens to be designed with the recognition that the real magic  happens when you have good food, good drink, and a bunch of bright, collaborative minds in the same room.
