Mutlifamily Weatherization?? Who knew?  The National Weatherization Training Conference (December 12 to 15) is actually running an entire track on weatherizing MFBs. See http://www1.eere.energy.gov/weatherization/conference/ for more info.

I have been asked to go down and discuss blower door testing in MFBs. The schedule (which I think is still coming together) includes sessions on audits and hiring an audit firm, financing, renewables, and working with owners.

And, by the time the conference rolls around, there's a good chance we will be well along on our task to begin an effectiveness study of Wisconsin's MF Wx program. (This first half will focus on typical measures/typical costs.)

Anyone else planning to be there??

Hey Don,I want to be there but have just been turned down by my manager.  Sorry it would have been fun! Good luck in NO!

I have been testing all the MFs that I have enough blower doors for.  Mostly the 'woody walk ups', but we have been dense packing and getting bid reductions.

Dan,

I believe it when you say you are seeing some good air sealing results. I am working on a paper for the ACEEE Summer Study on Buildings -- got some raw data on pre-and-post tests you'd be willing to share??

Don

Of course Don, My work is with DOE monies and part of the public domain.  I am counting on you to make some hay with it!

Hi Don, I'll be there. I will be attending several MF sessions. I'm really looking forward to the MF sessions as I really gained alot of knowledge attendinig the MF track at ACI in San Francisco. I'll try to get to your session but I'm presenting in two sessions (OSHA 101) so I'll see what the schedule looks like...See you there....Matt

Can a member of Resnet, BPI do MF audits? Can they do the improvements? Does it have to be done with a weatherization program? Is there any funding? How is MF related to HUD housing?

Craig,

Yes, low-income weatherization is done through the federal low-income weatherization program. I don't know of anyone else that funds that sort of work on a nation-wide basis.

All the rest -- that will become clearer if you hook up (contracting or as an employee) with a weatherization grantee in your area. It's certainly too complicated for a post on a web page.
