Permalink Reply by Allison A. Bailes III on December 20, 2010 at 12:31pm When you say you want data for modeling the equipment, what exactly do you mean, Stan? Are you talking about modeling it in REM/Rate or REM/Design? Using Manual J/S/T/D? Something else?
We use ahridirectory.org for new systems and Preston's Guide for older systems when putting the efficiency and capacity into REM/Rate. If neither of those works, we resort to the age-based defaults from the HERS Standards (pp. 3-34 & 3-35).
For HVAC design work, you have to get the mfr's performance data because you need fan curves and more.
I neglected to say that I need the data for modeling in REM, TREAT and a couple other rater/auditor tools. Thanks for the information Allison. I don't have good success with the AHRI site either though.

If you know the system is new enough and the coils are matched in the AC/heat pump, you can always call them up and get them to help you with it if it's really critical. Sometimes it's in their system, and that's the only way to get it out. You also need to have other methods, like the ones I mentioned above.
