Want to have fun building an energy model, all while saving time it takes to build in Energy Pro, and having a good visual of what the house looks like? UCLA has a free downloadable tool call HEED (Home Energy Efficient Design) you can build a simple model, set up different schemes for energy reduction (one of them being 2008 CEC Energy Compliance), and then export it into Energy Pro fully built for compliance. It took me 15-20 min to build both. You will have to go into the Energy Pro Model to rename assemblies, systems, etc or any alternatives. Also, you might want to compare the total site usage from both programs, just as a sanity check.
