Considering Permaculture &/or Transition

Some who work to increase energy efficiency and intelligent/wise use of energy are, and some will be, permaculturists.  Some are involved in Transition initiatives.  Here's a home base for any/all interested in the relationships and prospects.

David Holmgren:  "People, their buildings and the ways they organize themselves are central to permaculture."

The phenomenon called Transition was hatched in the UK and for several years has been spreading around the world.  Transition is possible, transition is probable and nearly inevitable.

On Facebook, I created this week a page named More Productive Property. It's about residents, house and grounds (and beyond) as a system.  Please visit!

Here's a new way to set up a lot of permablitzes in a few weeks.

I hope to be among the educators for some, if not all, of the tour.

In August 2014, in Minnesota, there's another unprecedented opportunity to meet and mix with a large number of permaculturalists, at the North American Permaculture Convergence.

Another note regarding Facebook.  If you search with the term permaculture, you'll find there are numerous pages and groups to like and join.

Hi George.  I'm happy for your participation.  You asked "Can you elaborate on your inclusion of the word "Considering" in the name for this group?"  I can.

I used it for three reasons:

  • to be welcoming (no one must commit to anything first)
  • to play on All Things Considered (particulars of permaculture; particulars as they pertain to home energy performance; and sustainability)
  • to suggest activity (we're doing something here).

Did you imagine anything other than these?  Do we have a problem?  There certainly isn't a lot of doing.  (In the past 10 months I've been on Facebook more than on Home Energy Pros.)
