Hi George. I'm happy for your participation. You asked "Can you elaborate on your inclusion of the word "Considering" in the name for this group?" I can.

I used it for three reasons:

to be welcoming (no one must commit to anything first)
to play on All Things Considered (particulars of permaculture; particulars as they pertain to home energy performance; and sustainability)
to suggest activity (we're doing something here).

Did you imagine anything other than these? Do we have a problem? There certainly isn't a lot of doing. (In the past 10 months I've been on Facebook more than on Home Energy Pros.)

I think this group is very important for this site, despite a small following at the moment. Bill Mollison -- perhaps the father of permaculture -- advocates working by a definition of "sustainable" that gets to the heart of our collective work as home energy professionals. To paraphrase, he says that to be "sustainable," a system must produce energy, sufficient to completely replace itself at least once within its lifecycle. While this may present a challenge too tough for many systems to actually achieve, I believe it greatly clarifies the edges of an important concept, frequently subjected to sloppy use and implementation.

Can you elaborate on your inclusion of the word "Considering" in the name for this group?
