As you know, Cape Light Compact does all their stuff with RISE in Rhode Island.  They will also be using them for the new HomeScore program.  So independent auditors are not going to be part of the pilot program, at least.  Also, the RFP for the next round for general audits and work will be available in mid-December which might not give folks much of a chance to respond.  It would be interesting to find out what homeowners really think of how well RISE has done.  I would hope that the analysis and the work has been spectacular.

I'm guessing ,on average, it's not spectacular. We've both seen photos of their installation work. That can happen to any large organization that doesn't make quality a top priority. Quality is harder to control the larger you get and probably increases the more remote you perform work and hire people such as out of state. It will be tough, if not impossible, to put together an organization that would qualify as lead vendor in the time allowed to respond. If HAC could resolve current invoicing and payment issues that are currently present in the low income program I would support their efforts in applying for the position. I think the entire local workforce would benefit much more than under the present situation.
Is there any way we could survey the people who have had audits through CLC and determine a level of satisfaction? I wonder if the feedback I have received is less than positive because I am an independent auditor.

At the CLC small business presentation today they said the current wait for a residential audit is 10 weeks, commercial 1-2 wks, gas commercial is longer wait.. They said the bad weather is the reason the wait is so long:) I did not see the point of mentioning that this year has been exceptionally mild and that this time last year the wait was 12 weeks for audits and another 12 weeks for install. (with the exception of the one week wonder from Brewster,). Instead I said, the backlog could be eliveated if cape  light compact  opened up the work to cape cod contractors vs just rise as there are plenty of qualified people on cape cod ready to do energy audits and install energy efficiency measures with a much faster turn around time than rise.
