Isn't it great that these terms: home performance contracting, energy audits, ratings, certification, team approach, leads, sales, marketing, money...  are out there big time in webinars and presentations as more and more contractors and providers are getting with this industry.  Let's not lose site of this:  PEOPLE use energy, not houses.  Yes, we want to close deals to get the work done.  And, we want to assist our customers in getting what THEY want.  We remember to Listen and Love our customers.

To answer zenmastermeg, we have many different brands and models, but we've settled mostly on Testo combustion analyzers with flexible probes and printers; Sensit combustible gas leak detectors with ppm on display; and ToxiRae "personal" CO alarms.

Heard it from the 'horse's mouth':  For any of you wanting to confirm that "System Airflow" in the BPI Heating Professional Standards means "actual as tested system airflow" and not the rated air flow on the air handler fan or nameplate, the answer is "actual".  There has been discussion about this.  Some were told to use the listed CFM.  We always test, and wanted to be sure ya'll knew the same. Test On!

Tamasin,

I'm using both a static pressure probe and the Testo 327 combustion analyzer (draft function) and the readings are very close to each other.

I sure would love to know what type of probe folks are using to measure draft pressure. Are you using a static pressure probe tip? Or a straight metal probe? How did you decide which probe to use? We found differences in pressure measurements between the two probes. You?
