My training center is presently training the new BPI installer certification. Is anyone else training this course? What is your impression? Have you developed your own curriculum or are you using NYSERDA's curriculum? We are using BPI's props and we are having some issues. Are you having issues with the props too? Any feedback you may have on how the training is structured? Thanks...

I work with CSG and we have delivered this training successfully in Portland over the past year.  We have developed our own curriculum and have had possitive feedback from our students.  It's a wonderful hands on experience not to mention fun with spray foam!!  However, we have also expressed the need for an instruction guide on the props.  They tend to be quite cumbersome.  The biggest complaint is the clean up of the props.  The amount of waste produced from this training and proper disposal is also concerning.

Cameron, Thanks..You're right, the waste from this training is excessive. We got approval from BPI to train with two part foam. Are you also training with two part? Regarding the props. We built them exactly to the BPI prop list but they are already starting to fall apart. The attic hatch design is poor and we've found that in addition to the weatherstripping that the trainee applies that we must also caulk it shut for the testing...We have the trainees clean each prop as they complete it so in the course of the training the trainees clean each prop twice, once on training and once on testing. We also train the dense pack and it's a pain in the butt...Thanks for your feedback..
