Tamasin has been in contact with Amy. Amy has suggested that we call the Hilton and lodge a complaint which I will do today. Please let others who have been affected know.

David, I edited the group description to take out SF, since Jennifer's no longer with ACI. She left this group active rather than delete it when she transitioned to her new job. (Thanks Jennifer!)

Jennifer,  how 'bout making continuation official by deleting "in San Francisco in March" from the description?

I'm well.  For what it's worth, my lodging was about 5 blocks away.

I wasn't there, but it sounds like they have a problem with the cooling tower(s), which may need some attention.  Everyone who got sick shoudl definitely document it and let Hilton management know about it.  This is serious, and could be fatal for someone with a compromised immune system.

I Goggled the street address, and looked as closely as I could at the HVAC system there.  Can't really diagnose much, but there is some ponding on the roof of the west building, on the north side.  I can't see much, but my guess would be the cooling towers.

All five people from NYSWDA got sick, they were all staying at the Hilton, and on different floors.  I noticed an adverse respiratory reaction whenever I re-entered my room.  Turning off the air handler and coming back later eased that reaction.  Not sure if it was organic or dust, but I still haven't stopped coughing.

Me too. I noted (and whined about) the fact that the Hilton was grossly over air-conditioned. That always helps spread germs nicely.

I was the Hilton

Wow! This is the first I've heard of anyone getting sick at the conference. Did you all stay at the same hotel? I was in the Days Inn.

Geez, I never get sick either and I came back with this hacking cough which is so tiring. I think my fever broke at least twice! Steph, Dale and Tamasin, good to know I'm in such great company.

Get better all of us
