DER Builder’s Guide (240 pages)
The DER Builder’s Guide provides an exploration into DER concepts and an elaboration of technical specifications for several common approaches to wall, ceiling, attic, basement, and slab assemblies. Special attention is given to how a specific single assembly can be completed while providing for future DER work as part of a staged approach to a deep energy retrofit.

One of the projects discussed is Will Brownsberger who met the 1000 Home Challenge 1 year ago.

Sean, revealing how most, if not all, households meet the Challenge is one of the reasons for the Challenge. Sharing people's strategies, some of which cannot be anticipated, will greatly increase the overall impact as non-participants adopt and adapt them.
Comment by Sean Feurtado on September 19, 2012 at 5:13pm Having helped work on one of the homes in the studies, it was nice to see how it compared to the other completed projects. I didn't think I'd hear studies about it post its completion. Thanks THC :)
I too recommend reading the article by Nicholas Arguimbau, "Bill McKibben is wrong...". I would like to hear your comments.
