On Facebook, I created this week a page named More Productive Property. It's about residents, house and grounds (and beyond) as a system.  Please visit www.facebook.com/MoreProductiveProperty

Heads up! We just approved two more 1000 Home Challenge projects, bringing the total number of completed projects to 24. One project is from California, the other from Massachusetts. More later...plus updated summary of 1000 Home Challenge data.

This is to reinforce Linda's 4/24 commendation of a discussion elsewhere on Home Energy Pros.

Consider including a permaculture designer on any team working with participants in the THC, especially for behavioral changes and community solutions.

I'm presenting at this unprecedented event in southern California in March.

The site is up (far more often that not).

Thousand Home Challenge - Re-Booted!

What is the essence of the Thousand Home Challenge? We are compiling recommendations to post on the Thousand Home Challenge Website under the heading "What People are Saying"

For the most current list of testimonials, I am starting a page in this group, so folks can build on the list. We welcome your contributions!

For newcomers and as a reminder to all who received the e-mail, great news received from Linda late last week:

"There has been a transition with the Thousand Home Challenge.  After a break in any visible activity since mid-May, we are now back in business.  Activities include offering the Introduction to the Thousand Home Challenge, moving projects forward, updating the website, and seeking opportunities for collaboration and funding.  We have moved from the pilot phase into the project development stage.  A virtual leadership/advisory group is being convened to steer us through the important work ahead.  I look forward to hearing from you!"

See the Resources section of this page for info about upcoming Intro webinars.

DER Builder’s Guide   (240 pages)

The DER Builder’s Guide provides an exploration into DER concepts and an elaboration of technical specifications for several common approaches to wall, ceiling, attic, basement, and slab assemblies. Special attention is given to how a specific single assembly can be completed while providing for future DER work as part of a staged approach to a deep energy retrofit.
