I am looking for feedback on the best, most affordable ways to get CEU'S for my BPI BA certification.

I like the idea of a self-paced online resource, like Saturn which I used to study for my tests a few years ago. The least desirable approach from my perspective, is to have to travel to a physical location to do this.

Thanks in advance for your input!

Robert, One of the easiest ways I've found to get CEU's is to attend various webinars from BPI, Efficiency First, and other organizations. They're usually good for a full credit, and only take an hour or so. For example, Efficiency First had one yesterday on Multifamily Dwelling retrofits for 1.5 CEU's.You can subscribe to their newsletters to get updates.

Good luck man!

Thanks for taking the time to comment, Adam!

I am somewhat aware of these, but I only do single family audits and retrofits and hope to find relevant educational opportunities. The EF webinars are usually legislative or business in nature- areas that have limited value to me. If I were choosing, I would want HVAC, ventilation, pressure diagnostics, or other audit skills related topics.

I agree 100% getting CEU's for marketing strategies etc is a waste of time and money. Have you noticed there is always a fee involved? Or you must be a member of the alphabet soup sites. Since when is listening to a self appointed "expert" on a subject that does not actually improve your knowledge of best practices or new techniques in efficiency help you become a better auditor? Pay the fee and we'll give you credit, it doesn't matter what you have learned as long as you pay the fee.

Robert,

Cornerstone Energy Solutions has created an online CEU program at EarnBPICEUs.com at $50 per CEU.   You can earn 0.5 CEU's from reading selected Home Energy articles too.  You'll find the online tests on their site.  How does the $50/CEU compare to other programs you've found online?

Thanks, Tom, for your input. That's kinda pricey, but I will look into it.

Energy University by Schneider Electric has several on-line course that are free that offer .5 CEU each.

I just received my recertification from BPI after 3 years and never paid for one CEU. You can take free webinars, and look for free classes at community action agencies or other non-profits like NeighborWorks. The opportunities for free CEU's are out there, you just have to find them.

Robert, we have several online, on-demand training classes that provide BPI credits. Check them out here: Homeenergypartners.com
