Can anybody tell me if automatic door sweeps can be cut to size? I see some that are 36" long but I need to install one on a 30" basement door. I'm looking for the kind that can be screwed to the inside surface of the door and springs up at an angle when the door is open. There are a couple of brands I see (Frost King & M-D Building Prod.) but I can't really find info on how to install them. Thanks

Permalink Reply by Jose Macho on February 25, 2013 at 11:04am Must be cut with a hacksaw so that the hinge is not damaged. Biggest problem is placement of the closing cam on the stop trim- using the supplied larger screw may split the stop trim molding so the cam cannot stay on securly so drill a pilot hole or use a smaller diameter screw.
