The Building Performance Institute, Inc. (BPI) has launched a new blog to educate homeowners about the health, safety and energy saving effects of home performance upgrades.

The primary goal of the blog is to help homeowners understand the house-as-a-system concept, the idea that the house is made up of many different components working together as a system to impact the comfort, health and energy use of occupants.

"The benefits of this education are far reaching - homeowners will better understand how home improvements can increase their quality of life while learning how specially trained, BPI-certified technicians are best equipped to handle these upgrades," said Larry Zarker, BPI CEO.

Tell us your stories!

The blog is also a place where you can connect with the public. BPI is accepting ideas and articles from contractors, test centers and other industry professionals. The blog will feature a variety of topics - from comfort issues and cost savings to your stories about heroic homeowners - for homeowners to explore. All published articles will include your company name, a link to your company website and your company logo.

Along these lines, you could win a Building Science Principles (BSP) Reference Guide and online exam for yourself or to give to a friend/colleague when you share the blog on social media using the hashtag #BPIBlogLaunch. BPI will pick a winner on December 15th. Let's spread the word about this great resource on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and all other social media outlets!

Visit to check out the blog and contact Senior Communications Associate, Quinn Korzeniecki, at with any ideas or posts that you might like to contribute.
