SUMMARY:The Snell Group Level - Thermographic Applications
DESCRIPTION:Continuing Education Credits/Units Available for This Cour
se \nA 32 hour class covering the theory and applications of infrared
thermography in the preventive maintenance, quality assurance, conditi
on monitoring and non destructive testing of materials fields. This cl
ass focuses on qualitative thermography and how to collect data and fo
llow proven and published inspection procedures. Upon completion stude
nts will be able to capture clear thermograms and make basic inference
s and diagnosis.\n\nLevel I material includes infrared theory, heat tr
ansfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equipment and specific r
ecommendations on how to make quality thermal images that are clear, c
oncise and easy to interpret. Students are challenged daily with hands
on demonstrations, experiments and inspection situations similar to t
hose they will experience in their work. Students leave Snell training
ready to put this amazing technology to work. This course fully meets
the educational requirements for certification according to the publi
shed recommendations of ASNT.\n\nAn overview of the most common applic
 ations include:\nElectrical distribution systems\nMechanical systems\n
 Steam systems\nRefractories\nUnderground piping\nActive thermography\n
Building envelopes\nLow-slope roofs\nNondestructive testing of materia
ls\nStudents learn the basic inspection techniques based on accepted i
ndustry and international inspection procedures.\n\nThe course is open
to everyone regardless of whether or not they own a thermal imager. A
ttendees that do have equipment are encouraged to bring their systems
as there are a number of hands-on learning opportunities available dur
ing the week.\n\nFor more information visit http://homeenergypros.lbl.
