SUMMARY:The Snell Group - Level I Thermographic Applications
DESCRIPTION:Continuing Education Credits/Units Available for This Cou
rseA 32 hour class covering the theory and applications of infrared th
ermography in the preventive maintenance, quality assurance, condition
monitoring and non destructive testing of materials fields. This clas
s focuses on qualitative thermography and how to collect data and foll
ow proven and published inspection procedures. Upon completion student
s will be able to capture clear thermograms and make basic inferences
and diagnosis.\n \nLevel I material includes infrared theory, heat tr
ansfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equipment and specific r
ecommendations on how to make quality thermal images that are clear, c
oncise and easy to interpret. Students are challenged daily with hands
on demonstrations, experiments and inspection situations similar to t
hose they will experience in their work. Students leave Snell training
ready to put this amazing technology to work. This course fully meets
the educational requirements for certification according to the publi
shed recommendations of ASNT.  \n \nAn overview of the most common a
 pplications include:\n\nElectrical distribution systems\nMechanical sy
 stems\nSteam systems\nRefractories\nUnderground piping\nActive thermog
 raphy\nBuilding envelopes\nLow-slope roofs\nNondestructive testing of
materials\n\nStudents learn the basic inspection techniques based on a
ccepted industry and international inspection procedures.\n \nThe cou
rse is open to everyone regardless of whether or not they own a therma
l imager. Attendees that do have equipment are encouraged to bring th
eir systems as there are a number of hands-on learning opportunities a
vailable during the week.\n \n\nFor more information visit http://hom
