SUMMARY:The Snell Group - Level I Thermographic Applications
DESCRIPTION:Continuing Education Credits/Units Available for This Cou
rse \nA 32 hour class covering the theory and applications of infrared
thermography in the preventive maintenance, quality assurance, condit
ion monitoring and non destructive testing of materials fields. This c
lass focuses on qualitative thermography and how to collect data and f
ollow proven and published inspection procedures. Upon completion stud
ents will be able to capture clear thermograms and make basic inferenc
es and diagnosis.\n \nLevel I material includes infrared theory, heat
transfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equipment and specifi
c recommendations on how to make quality thermal images that are clear
, concise and easy to interpret. Students are challenged daily with ha
nds on demonstrations, experiments and inspection situations similar t
o those they will experience in their work. Students leave Snell train
ing ready to put this amazing technology to work. This course fully me
ets the educational requirements for certification according to the pu
blished recommendations of ASNT.  \n \nAn overview of the most commo
 n applications include:\n\nElectrical distribution systems\nMechanical
  systems\nSteam systems\nRefractories\nUnderground piping\nActive ther
 mography\nBuilding envelopes\nLow-slope roofs\nNondestructive testing
of materials\n\nStudents learn the basic inspection techniques based o
n accepted industry and international inspection procedures.\n \nThe
course is open to everyone regardless of whether or not they own a the
rmal imager. Attendees that do have equipment are encouraged to bring
their systems as there are a number of hands-on learning opportunitie
s available during the week.\n \n\nFor more information visit http://
