SUMMARY:The Snell Group Level I – Thermographic Applications
DESCRIPTION:Continuing Education Credits/Units Available for This Cour
se\n\nA 32 hour class covering the theory and applications of infrared
thermography in the preventive maintenance, quality assurance, condit
ion monitoring and non destructive testing of materials fields. This c
lass focuses on qualitative thermography and how to collect data and f
ollow proven and published inspection procedures. Upon completion stud
ents will be able to capture clear thermograms and make basic inferenc
es and diagnosis.\n\nLevel I material includes infrared theory, heat t
ransfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equipment and specific
recommendations on how to make quality thermal images that are clear,
concise and easy to interpret. Students are challenged daily with hand
s on demonstrations, experiments and inspection situations similar to
those they will experience in their work. Students leave Snell trainin
g ready to put this amazing technology to work. This course fully meet
s the educational requirements for certification according to the publ
ished recommendations of ASNT.\n\nAn overview of the most common appli
 cations include:\nElectrical distribution systems\nMechanical systems\
 nSteam systems\nRefractories\nUnderground piping\nActive thermography\
nBuilding envelopes\nLow-slope roofs\nNondestructive testing of materi
als\nStudents learn the basic inspection techniques based on accepted
industry and international inspection procedures.\n\nThe course is ope
n to everyone regardless of whether or not they own a thermal imager.
Attendees that do have equipment are encouraged to bring their systems
as there are a number of hands-on learning opportunities available du
ring the week.\n\nFor more information visit http://homeenergypros.lbl
