SUMMARY:The Snell Group Level I – Thermographic Applications
DESCRIPTION:\n\nCourse Description:\nContinuing Education Credits/Unit
s Available for This CourseA 32 hour class covering the theory and ap
plications of infrared thermography in the preventive maintenance, qua
lity assurance, condition monitoring and non destructive testing of ma
terials fields. This class focuses on qualitative thermography and how
to collect data and follow proven and published inspection procedures
. Upon completion students will be able to capture clear thermograms a
nd make basic inferences and diagnosis.\nLevel I material includes inf
rared theory, heat transfer concepts, operation of thermal imaging equ
ipment and specific recommendations on how to make quality thermal ima
ges that are clear, concise and easy to interpret. Students are challe
nged daily with hands on demonstrations, experiments and inspection si
tuations similar to those they will experience in their work. Students
leave Snell training ready to put this amazing technology to work. Th
is course fully meets the educational requirements for certification a
ccording to the published recommendations of ASNT.  \n \nAn overvie
w of the most common applications include:\n\nElectrical distribution
 systems\nMechanical systems\nSteam systems\nRefractories\nUnderground
 piping\nActive thermography\nBuilding envelopes\nLow-slope roofs\nNond
estructive testing of materials\n\nStudents learn the basic inspection
techniques based on accepted industry and international inspection pr
ocedures.\n \nThe course is open to everyone regardless of whether or
not they own a thermal imager. Attendees that do have equipment are
encouraged to bring their systems as there are a number of hands-on le
arning opportunities available during the week.\n\n\n\n\n\nFor more in
