Event Description

RESNET HERS Rater Training

This course is intended to prepare students for the RESNET/Hers Rater exam.  The focus of the course is:

1.  An overview of basic Building Science with a house as a system approach to addressing energy efficiency

2.  Pressure diagnostics including blower door and duct leakage testing

3.  Combustion Safety

4.  Energy Modeling

5.  Hands-on field training will cover assessing, evaluating, and developing energy models on actual homes in the community. The goal will be to predict energy performance and test  the data that is gathered. 

The course is designed to meet the certification criteria of needing two “supervised ratings”.
