Event Description

BPI Residential Building Envelope Installer (Accessible Air Leakage and Whole House Air Leakage)  3 days each

This course is a hands-on introduction to the skills and principles necessary for working in the expanding field of home weatherization or energy retrofits.  Candidates / students will administer air sealing techniques utilizing a number of different scenarios seen in the field.  This course will provide the skills to help you prepare for BPI's Residential Building Envelope Accessible Areas and Whole House Air Leakage Control Installer exams.

 Gain the capability to:

  • Identify key air sealing, duct sealing, and insulation opportunities
  • Select and use equipment and materials, including pressure testing and weatherization tools
  • Install specific air-leakage-control in conditioned and unconditioned spaces
  • Incorporate principles of building science, combustion safety and mechanical ventilation for health and safety
  • Install blown insulation materials to correct density as an air sealing technique
