 exam\n\nABOUT THE COURSE\nPTCS is a certification program for resident
 ial heat pumps and duct systems. It is sponsored by the Bonneville Pow
 er Administration based on recommendations made by the Regional Techni
 cal Forum regarding the best practices for high performing HVAC system
 s. Through the PTCS program, contractors are trained in the specificat
 ions and paperwork that must be submitted for each job to a local appr
 oved PTCS registry.\n \nThe PTCS Duct Sealing class covers many aspec
 ts of the PTCS program including:\n• Pressure diagnostics in the bui
 lding to identify leakage to the outside.\n• The use of testing equi
 pment such as the duct blaster, blower door, and manometer.\n• Prope
 r techniques for securing and sealing ductwork, including mechanical f
 astening,\n  Panduit straps, and the use of mastic.\n• Program spec
 ific requirements to qualify for utility incentives and tax credits.\n
  \nBENEFITS OF THE COURSE\nTechnicians who successfully complete the 
 course will become PTCS Certified and then able to participate in vari
 ous regional programs sponsored by Bonneville Power Administration, En
 ergy Trust of Oregon, local utilities, and the Oregon Department of En
