Event Description

Partnering for Program Success with Colleges and Other Trainers

Thursday, February 9, 11:00am - 12:30pm Pacific (2:00pm - 3:30pm Eastern)

Discover how best to fulfill both technical and fundamental learning needs

Learn how local community colleges as well as national training infrastructures are emerging to partner with utilities and government programs to meet the immediate as well as long-term learning needs of program participants in on-going, sustainable ways. This webinar will offer candid insights about partnering strategies and tactics from representatives of colleges and other training organizations.

Too often program managers assume that if they just bring in a technical trainer for a one-shot course that the building trades will "get it" and program success will follow. Experienced program managers know that the training needs of your program participants may be more fundamental or much more specialized.

During this Web Exchange, you will gain these insights onhow to:

  • Navigate the organizational structure of most colleges and trainers… and which ones are uncharacteristic and when that is good for your program
  • Talk to colleges and trainers about your programs
  • Craft your "pitch" to articulate how your program goals align with their training (and grant attracting) objectives
  • Reach out to national trainers without alienating local colleges. And vice versa.
  • Help colleges leverage grant opportunities from third-parties to deliver training that meets your program needs

Who should attend? Energy and water utility and state/local government staff who design and implement programs that encourage homeowners to make energy/water efficiency and renewable energy improvements.

No need to travel! Learn at your computer! As easy as a conference call! Your EGIA Leadership Academy Web Exchange registration includes one phone line (or Voice-Over-Internet) connection plus a web link to the presentations. You are welcome to use the phone connection on a speaker phone and project the Web Exchange in a conference room so an unlimited number of your associates may participate. After the event, you will receive a link to the archived Web Exchange with unlimited access to presentation slides with an audio recording of the presenters and question-and-answer discussion.

Can't participate on this date/time? No problem, register anyway, participate live with those from your organization who can make it, and you will receive a video/audio recording link afterward to view and share with others in your organization.
